You will find information about training offered by the Mental Health Licensure and Certification Section for new and currently licensed providers:

New Provider Orientation

This is a 3-hour session for those who want to know more about starting a facility offering the services that fall under the Mental Health Licensure (MHL) rules. This orientation reviews the requirements for licensure and provides a general overview of the North Carolina mental health system. During the orientation we will discuss what is needed to open a new facility. Below is a list of items that will be discussed during the orientation. It is strongly recommended that you view the items below and bring a printed copy of the documents with you to the orientation.

You can choose to attend the Raleigh or Gastonia location, however room capacity is limited and a reservation is required.

Connecting the Dots

This is a 3-hour session for providers who currently hold a Mental Health License (MHL) for a mental health, developmental disability or substance abuse service. The purpose of this training is to help providers gain knowledge and understanding regarding North Carolina rules & General Statutes, the MHL&C survey process, administrative sanctions and appeal opportunities, and how these rules and processes fit together.

Please review the documents below and bring a printed copy of the documents with you. Handouts will not be provided. All of the documents below will be referenced in the training.

Connecting the Dots II - Medications

This is a 3-hour session for providers who currently hold a Mental Health License (MHL) for a mental health, developmental disability or substance abuse service. The training provides an overview of the licensing rules for administering and documenting medications in facilities licensed by MHL&C.
