Reporting During Emergencies

It is important to the Nursing Home Licensure & Certification Section to hear from you during  emergency situations. The section wants assurance that the nursing home building, nursing home staff, and nursing home residents are safe. In addition, the Nursing Home Licensure & Certification Section is required to keep the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) informed of certain situations.

Examples of details to report could include:  power outages, generator use, how many days of generator fuel on hand, shelter in place, evacuating to a specific location, telephone service is down in your area, or a flooded area of the building.
