The North Carolina General Assembly enacted legislation that has created a new program that is based on the following findings:
The General Assembly further finds that it is the public policy of this state to encourage and facilitate the voluntary provision of health care services.
This new program went into effect on January 1, 2013 and provides a process that allows for the registration of sponsoring not-for-profit organizations who want to organize or arrange for the voluntary provision of health care services in North Carolina. The forms must be completed by any proposed sponsoring organization and submitted along with the $50.00 registration fee for approval to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Health Service Regulation, Office of Emergency Medical Services 2707 Mail Services Center, Raleigh, North Carolina 27699-2707.
