General Information
The purpose of the Commission is:
- To adopt, recommend or rescind rules for regulation of most health care facilities. (hospitals, hospices, free standing outpatient surgical facilities, nursing homes, home care agencies, home health agencies, nursing pools, facilities providing mammography/pap smear services, ambulances, and emergency medical services personnel)
- To administer the Health Care Facilities Finance Act; which enables the Commission to issue tax-exempt revenue bonds to finance construction and equipment projects for nonprofit and public hospitals, nursing homes, continuing care facilities for the elderly and facilities related to the foregoing.

Note: Beginning July 1, 2009, EMMA's continuing disclosure service will accept electronic submissions of continuing disclosure documents and related information from issuers, obligated parties and their agents according to continuing disclosure undertakings entered into consistent with Exchange Act Rule 15c2-12. On July 1, 2009, issuers or obligated parties will no longer need to file documents at multiple Nationally Recognized Municipal Securities Information Repositories but instead will file at the EMMA website.
