Radiation Protection Rules

Pursuant to G.S. 150B-21.3A, Periodic Review and Expiration of Existing Rules, all rules are reviewed at least every 10 years, or they shall expire. As a result of the periodic review of the rules in Chapter 10A NCAC 15, Radiation Protection, these 8 rules were part of the 257 rules from the N.C. Radiation Protection Commission determined as “Necessary With Substantive Public Interest,” requiring readoption. With input from advisory committees, working groups of the N.C. Radiation Protection Commission and stake holders, substantive changes are proposed for eight rules for amendment.

The eight rules proposed for amendment with substantive changes have been reorganized to incorporate by reference Title 10 of the federal Code of Federal Regulations (21 CFR) for Parts 1010 and 1020, including subsequent amendments and editions, instead of repeating the contents of those regulations. General changes to these rules include updates and revisions to the requirements of the section.
